Earlier in the day, eyewitnesses told Sputnik that Israeli warplanes attacked a building in the center of the Lebanese capital.
“The missile struck the building between Sodeco and Ras Al Naba'a [neighborhoods]. The office of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party is located in the building,” the eyewitness said.
Later in the day, the Secretary-General of the Lebanese branch of the Baath Party, Ali Hijazi, said that the Israeli air force has attacked the headquarters of Syria's nationalist Baath Party in central Beirut.
“The raid [by Israeli air force] targeted the party's leadership building in Ras al-Nabaa, and the party's Secretary-General, Comrade Ali Hijazi, was not present in the building,” Hijazi said on X.
