Ethiopia and Russia agreed to collaborate on carbon trading and climate change mitigation initiatives, signing a Memorandum of Understanding at the 29th session of the UN Climate Change Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Ethiopian Ministry of Planning and Development reported.
This agreement aims to strengthen Ethiopia's efforts to restore its forests and combat climate change through the country's Green Legacy program, the goal of which is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote carbon trading.
The partnership also includes providing technical assistance for forest conservation and facilitating carbon trading initiatives, according to the Ethiopian ministry.
