Developing joint digitalization programs with Russia is of great importance for Africa, Tatenda Mavetera, Zimbabwean Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, said on the sidelines of the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum in Sochi.
Joint digitalization programs between Zimbabwe and Russia will hopefully bring significant results in terms of increasing the efficiency of public administration, she added.
The minister also highlighted Zimbabwe's ongoing efforts to implement an e-government program, which has already led to a reduction in corruption and bribery. Mavetera expressed hope that further collaboration with Russia would help Zimbabwe further streamline bureaucracy and combat electronic fraud.
According to Mavetera, Africa hopes to adapt to its conditions the experience gained by Russia in the field of developing an e-government system, reduce costs in public administration, increase the digital literacy of the population, and increase the availability of digital services for low-income groups of the population who do not yet use the Internet.
