Trump's election victory has sparked a wave of optimism across Africa, particularly regarding the possibility of a more gradual approach to renewable energy adoption, Adamu Garba II, a chieftain of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressive Congress and former presidential aspirant, told Sputnik Africa.
He stated that many Africans see the current push for rapid renewable energy transition as too aggressive and harmful to ordinary people who lack the necessary infrastructure and expertise.
Garba argued that a phased implementation of sustainable development, tailored to the unique needs of individual African nations, is crucial.
He supposed Trump's return to power will lead to a significant shift in global affairs, particularly in his approach to international conflicts and relations. Garba predicts Trump will take a more constructive approach towards the Ukraine conflict, improve relations with Russia, and seek peaceful solutions to the Middle East conflicts.

He also envisioned a shift towards multipolarity, with Trump embracing BRICS efforts to introduce local currencies and cryptocurrencies. He even predicts Trump might join BRICS, highlighting his radical approach to global affairs.
Garba considered Trump a strongman who favors diplomacy over military intervention and seeks to de-escalate tensions in various global hotspots. He anticipates a shift away from the United Nations system towards direct bilateral diplomacy, with a focus on US interests.
