A delegation of Russian volunteer doctors visited Zambia for the first time as part of the "Missiya Dobro" ("Kindness Mission") project, and several complex operations have already been performed, Russian humanitarian cooperation agency Rossotrudnichestvo told Sputnik.
The Russian delegation is represented by doctors of various specialties: oncologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, gynecologists, and neonatologists, among others, the agency reported.
The specialists are currently working at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka and have already taken part in complex surgeries, including the removal of a malignant tumor of the upper jaw. In addition, the doctors provide emergency medical care to Zambian women in labor.
