The Ynet news portal reported earlier this week, citing high-ranking Israeli officials, that Israel is actively negotiating a settlement with Lebanon, with the participation of the US, and is interested in Russia playing a special role in ensuring compliance with the future agreement.

We, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, are working on the Resolution 1701, actively participate in all discussions that are taking place in New York and other venues, and in the course of bilateral contacts. We are ready, of course, to make our contribution to the establishment of peace and stability," Bogdanov said when asked if Russia received proposals to become a guarantor of a possible agreement between Lebanon and Israel.
