Czech Defense Minister Jana Cernochova and her Moroccan counterpart, Abdellatif Loudiyi, signed an intergovernmental agreement on military cooperation between the two countries in Marrakesh, Czech media reported.
During the talks, the two ministers discussed defense and industrial cooperation, the CTK news agency reported on Wednesday.
"Morocco is a key country in the Maghreb, a guarantor of stability in the region, and it is very interested in developing our relations. Therefore, I was glad to accept the invitation of my Moroccan colleague, Abdellatif Loudiyi, and take part in the bilateral meetings that took place today in Marrakesh as part of the traditional military air show, Marrakech Air Show," Cernochova said on X.
Marking Morocco's urge to strengthen military cooperation with African countries, a high-level meeting between military leaders of Morocco and Ethiopia took place in July and focused on enhanced security cooperation and potential future collaboration, laying the groundwork for a possible defense agreement between the countries, reports said.
