The insights from Kazan paint an encouraging picture amid widespread global negativity, illustrating how BRICS countries have united to confront pressing issues. The resolutions reflect a detailed analysis of these issues and propose actionable solutions, indicating a notable shift in the existing global power dynamics, stresses Dr. Rasigan Maharajh, Chief Director of the Institute for Economic Research on Innovation at Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa, in a discussion with Sputnik Africa's correspondent.

"My response in terms of how to view all of the points raised in [BRICS 2024 Summit] Kazan is to be extremely positive [...]. Why I say or why I'm extremely positive is that the resolutions also give us a sense of the level of analysis done about the problems that we are confronted by. So in this, we also see elements where the constituent BRICS members have sought a commonality in their critique [...]. And as opposed to just leaving the criticism, they've also contributed in terms of shaping positive responses in redressing the challenges. In other words, turning what is a negative situation into a positive," Maharajh says.
