For the first time in a long time, the Confederation of African Football plans to get net revenue of $11.7 million in 2024-2025, according to the financial report presented at the 46th CAF Ordinary Assembly in Addis Ababa.
"We had to immediately stop the hemorrhaging and stop the huge amount of financial problems and difficulties, and the financial position of CAF was in a very, very dire condition," CAF President Patrice Motsepe underscored at the event.
Earlier, Cote d'Ivoire won the 2023 African Cup of Nations, also known as the AFCON. The championship was organized by the CAF and took place in Côte d'Ivoire from January 13 to February 11. Cote d'Ivoire's national football team defeated Nigeria in the final match of the African Cup of Nations. The AFCON bronze went to South Africa, who defeated DR Congo on penalties.
The next championship will be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
