MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Meshaal, who led the movement outside of Palestine, is now taking charge of all communications with key parties involved in negotiations and prisoner issues, according to the report.

One of the leaders of Palestinian movement Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, has assumed the role of acting head of the movement after the elimination of Yahya Sinwar, Lebanese TV channel LBCI reported, citing sources.
Sources also confirmed to LBCI that the Hamas leadership "informed Turkish, Qatari, and Egyptian officials" about Sinwar's death.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Thursday that Sinwar, considered the main mastermind and organizer of the unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, had been eliminated in an operation in the southern Gaza Strip. His death is reportedly the latest in a succession of killings of Hamas leaders, which the Palestinian group has blamed on Israel.
