Gratitude for Russia's material and technical assistance to African countries in the healthcare sector was expressed by Amsatou Sow Sidibé, President of the Senegalese Human Rights Committee, at the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Problems of Human Rights Protection: Exchange of Best Practices of Ombudsmen" in Moscow, Russia.
"I am glad that the Russian Federation is taking certain actions in Africa. In Senegal, there is a whole project organized by Russia to support effective protection of rights to health care: special educational programs, research programs are carried out, technical and material assistance is provided. We are grateful for this," said Amsatou Sow Sidibé.
Sidibé emphasized the need for global solidarity and cooperation in protecting human rights, stating that it's a concern for the entire world, not just individual countries. She acknowledged Senegal's struggles to provide adequate healthcare due to equipment shortages, personnel deficits, and high costs and stressed that while the government is working on solutions, problems still persist.
