UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has confirmed his participation in the upcoming BRICS summit in the Russian city of Kazan, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin told Sputnik on Thursday.
"When we were in New York, Guterres met with [Russian Foreign] Minister [Sergey Lavrov], he confirmed that he was very seriously preparing for his participation in this forum in Kazan, that is, he confirmed [his participation]," Vershinin said on the sidelines of the 8th international ombudsmen conference.
The BRICS summit will be held in Kazan from October 22-24.
