Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov held talks with Burkina Faso's Prime Minister Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambela and discussed areas of cooperation, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
"We highly appreciate the friendly nature of our relations and the established forms of cooperation between us. Russian-Burkinese relations are based on the principles of mutual respect, consideration of each other's interests and have gained positive momentum in recent years," Belousov said.
The parties discussed current areas of cooperation between the two countries, the ministry said.
"I consider our meeting today to be another step in the development of our friendly relations," Belousov said.
