Iranian Missiles Reportedly Hit 80% of Targets in First Wave of Strikes at Israel

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On Tuesday, Iran fired several hundred ballistic missiles at Israel in response to the assassinations of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, and senior IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoushan. Tehran noted that it does not seek war with Israel but will deal with any threat decisively.

At least 80% of Iranian missiles launched during the first wave of attacks on Israel hit their targets, Iranian news agency Fars reported on Tuesday, citing a source familiar with the matter.
A second wave of strikes by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is imminent, the news agency reported.

Shooting in Tel Aviv

A shooting attack in southern Tel Aviv killed six people and injured nine others, the Israel Police said.

"We know that in this attack, six civilians so far were killed in a stabbing slash shooting attack by terrorists, and nine civilians were injured in varying degrees of injuries, according to medical sources," police said in a video message on X on Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, a shooting attack occurred in southern Tel Aviv almost simultaneously with Iran's missile attack on Israel. Two unknown assailants reportedly opened fire on people near the tram tracks. The attackers were also armed with knives. They were later eliminated.

Fighting in Southern Lebanon

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Avichai Edri said on Wednesday that the Israeli military is fighting fierce battles in southern Lebanon and called on residents of the region to refrain from traveling south of the Litani River.
"Urgent warning to residents of southern Lebanon: there is heavy fighting in southern Lebanon, with Hezbollah elements taking advantage of the civilian environment and using civilians as human shields for their attacks. For your personal safety, we ask you not to travel by vehicle from the area north of the Litani River to the south," Edri said on X.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Hezbollah movement said that it had engaged in battle with Israeli infantry near the village of Aadaysit in the south of the country for the first time since Israel announced a ground operation in Lebanon.
