"Anything that undermines a woman cannot be preserved. It has to be changed because there isn't any culture that is static. Cultures do change; they evolve," the minister says.
"When we came, we could feel it clearly that we are not somewhere else, but this is our brothers' and sisters' house," Victoria Kauma, Vice Chairperson of the National Council of Namibia, says.
"They are not serious. Those people who allow Ukraine to attack Russia, they are not really serious. It’s a lip service. You cannot allow and assist a certain country to attack another country and not expect another country to defend itself," Loide Kasingo, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Namibia, comments on the decision.
"We are our own liberators. The men are not prepared to give it to us on a silver plate. If we are given a chance, we can do it," Chinomona concludes.
