Mureza Auto’s upcoming electric vehicles will use local materials, making them unique in the market, Tatenda Mungofa, CEO of Mureza Auto Company, told Sputnik Africa.

“Our upcoming electric vehicles will be using lithium from Zimbabwe, a few other minerals from South Africa. So that already makes us unique,” he said.

Mungofa also highlighted the company's competitive pricing as a key selling point.
He added that they design their vehicles by themselves, drawing from local inspiration to create a culturally relevant product with components sourced from Africa.

Moreover, collaboration with international players, especially Russian manufacturers, will further boost Africa's car manufacturing capabilities.
“We need to collaborate with international players and Russian partners...it would be a good partnership to look at for Africa,” Mungofa noted.
Mureza is also benefiting from government incentives and special economic zones in South Africa, which are supporting the company’s growth.
“The supplier development anchor that they have got in South Africa is quite critical to establishing a manufacturing business like ours,” he shared.
