The death toll of civilians as a result of Israeli airstrikes on settlements in southern Lebanon has risen to 492, with 1,645 citizens injured, the Emergency Situations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health said on Monday.
Earlier in the day, the center said the death toll of civilians in Lebanon had risen to 356 people, with 1,246 citizens injured.
"The raids killed 492 people, including 35 children and 58 women, and injured 1,645," the statement said.
Last Tuesday and Wednesday, a wave of wireless device detonations across Lebanon killed 37 people and injured more than 3,000, according to official data. It is still unknown what caused thousands of devices to explode simultaneously. Hezbollah and the Lebanese authorities blamed Israel for the incident.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog denied the country's involvement in the incident. The detonations were followed by this Monday's massive Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon.
