The cultural center Russian House in Chad, which is now located in a new building in the heart of N'Djamena, celebrated its housewarming.
The center serves as a symbol of friendship and cultural exchange.
"This center is more than just a building; it is a symbol of friendship and cultural exchange between our countries," Safia Akhmat Ibrahim, president of the Russian House, remarked.
Since its opening on November 11, 2023, the Russian House has been actively promoting Russian culture through language courses, various cultural events, and film screenings, including those featuring World War II. Additionally, it houses Chad's largest collection of Russian publications, with approximately 200 books, positioning itself as a vital hub for the dissemination of Russian culture and knowledge.
Furthermore, the Russian House has been instrumental in enhancing media cooperation between Chad and Russia. The center has co-organized notable events, such as the Day of Chadian Culture in Moscow and the Week of Chadian Cinema, which will commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Chad and Russia in late November 2024.
Looking forward, the center plans to expand its Russian language training program and introduce several initiatives to further familiarize Chadians with Russian traditions and culture.
