"Military depots in Lubny, Poltava Region, were hit. At 22:50 local time [19:50 GMT], the former arsenal of the heavy bombardment corps was struck. The arsenal began to fill up recently, including with long-range missiles," Sergey Lebedev said.
Earlier this month, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that NATO countries are currently discussing not only Kiev's possible use of Western long-range weapons but are essentially deciding whether to directly engage in the Ukrainian conflict. The direct participation of Western countries in the Ukrainian conflict will change its essence; Russia will be forced to make decisions based on the threats thus created for it, he said.
Western countries have ramped up their military and financial aid to Kiev since the start of Russia's military operation in Ukraine in February 2022. Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine hamper a peaceful settlement and lead to NATO’s direct involvement in the conflict. Russian officials have also warned that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russian strikes.
