On September 19, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov, met with Niger's Ambassador to Moscow, Abdou Sidikou Issa, at the ambassador's request. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss key areas of cooperation between Russia and Niger.
The discussion focused on the African agenda, with particular emphasis on resolving regional conflicts, including those in the Sahel region.
The two officials also discussed ways to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation between Russia and Niger in preparation for the upcoming Russia-Africa Partnership Forum Ministerial Conference scheduled for November in Sochi.
