Niger's armed forces have eliminated more than 100 terrorists and have also destroyed important enemy material resources in the southwestern Tillaberi region, the broadcaster said.
The Nigerien armed forces lost five soldiers, and 27 troops were wounded, RTN noted. The country's authorities expressed condolences to the families of the dead and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The Tillaberi region, which borders Burkina Faso and Mali, reportedly suffers regular attacks blamed on an affiliate of the Islamic State terrorist group (IS, banned in Russia).
