Dina Namubes, mayor of the coastal Namibian town of Swakopmund, expressed her admiration for Moscow's digital development during the BRICS Urban Future Forum in Moscow.
In an interview with Sputnik Africa, she highlighted the city's green spaces, accessible transportation, and advanced infrastructure as key aspects that could inspire similar transformations in Namibia.

"I'm so glad to see the affordable, convenient, and comfortable transportation in many forms," Namubes told Sputnik Africa, emphasizing the city's commitment to sustainable and efficient mobility.

She also praised Moscow's commitment to creating public spaces, stating, "There are so many beautiful parks and green spaces. These are the things that we really want to take back to our countries."

Namubes acknowledged the rapid pace of urbanization across Africa and stressed the need for global collaboration to address the challenges it presents.
"We need to sit down and strengthen our ties," she urged, "We need to share ideas. We need to promote skills transfers."
The Namibian mayor sees the BRICS+ forum, which brings together the ten BRICS members and their partners, as a valuable platform for networking, cooperation, and knowledge sharing.

"As BRICS family, we are here today; we can really network, collaborate, and seek advice from each other and let's really rely on each other to bring about change and development to our BRICS family countries," she concluded.
