Sounds of explosions similar to recent ones of the detonation of pagers are heard in several areas of Lebanon, the Lebanese Al Jadeed broadcaster reported on Wednesday, citing sources.
Three people were killed when devices exploded in Bekaa in eastern Lebanon, Lebanon's NNA news agency reported on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, a Lebanese source told Sputnik that communication devices other than pagers had exploded in different parts of Lebanon.
"Communication devices used by Hezbollah members exploded in different parts of Lebanon, different from the pagers that detonated less than 24 hours ago," the source said.
More than 20 people were injured as a result of the detonation of communication devices in several Lebanese neighborhoods, Qatar's Al Jazeera broadcaster reported.
Al Hadath TV channel in turn reported that at least 100 people were injured in new explosions of communication devices in Lebanon.
Videos of fires in homes and cars in the southern suburbs of Beirut and in a number of settlements in southern Lebanon have appeared on social media. It is reported that the fires were caused by explosions of communication devices.
Local media report that walkie-talkies detonated in Lebanon on Wednesday were purchased by the Hezbollah movement around the same time as the pagers, about five months ago.
