Russia Counts on South Africa as Strong Partner in Africa, Says Russian Security Council Secretary

On September 10, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergey Shoigu, held a bilateral working meeting with the South African Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, as part of the meeting of senior security officials of the BRICS and BRICS+ countries.

The Russian Security Council Secretary highlighted that ongoing political discussions between Russia and South Africa are crucial for fostering their strategic partnership.

"We consider your country [South Africa] to be one of Russia's closest allies on the African continent, and we note the stable political dialogue, including at the highest level, which contributes to the progressive development of bilateral relations in the spirit of strategic partnership," noted Sergey Shoigu.
