China-Africa trade turnover reached $192.44 billion in January-August, up 2.7% year-on-year, according to China's General Administration of Customs.
According to the data released by the agency, exports from China to Africa decreased by 2.1% to $112.97 billion. However, imports from the continent to China increased by 10.4% to $79.47 billion.
On September 5, Chinese President Xi Jinping said at the opening ceremony of the 9th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation that Beijing is willing to deepen cooperation with Africa in industry, agriculture, infrastructure construction, trade, and investment.
According to the Chinese leader, "mutually beneficial cooperation is the sunny road to the betterment of long-term and fundamental interests of all countries."
