Lichtman has been almost infallibly predicting the winners of US presidential races since 1984 and uses a system of analysis of thirteen factors, or "keys," that has been accumulating data since 1860. If six or more "keys" go to the opponent of the president or his party, then he will most likely lose. The analysis conducted this time showed that the Democrats will lose no more than five of them in the election.
"The keys show that Kamala Harris is a predicted winner," Lichtman told Fox News.
The keys are as follows: nomination contest, party mandate, incumbency, third party, short-term economy, long-term economy, policy change, social unrest, scandal, foreign/military failure, foreign/military success, incumbent charisma and challenger charisma.
The historian earlier managed to predict Donald Trump's victory in the 2016 presidential election, being one of the few forecasters to bet on the Republican candidate.
The US presidential election will be held on November 5. The Democratic Party will be represented by Harris, and the Republican Party by former President Trump.
