Restrictions on the dissemination of information by US media outlets in Russia will follow in response to Washington's sanctions against the Rossiya Segodnya media group, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik.
"There can be no tit-for-tat measures. There is no state news agency in the United States, and there is no state television channel in the United States. But, of course, measures that will restrict their media outlets in disseminating their information will follow," Peskov said, commenting on Washington's sanctions against Rossiya Segodnya.
He added that some restrictions are already in effect.
Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, informed Sputnik on Thursday that Moscow is gearing up to implement countermeasures in response to the US sanctions imposed on Rossiya Segodnya.
