Russian Investigators Got Responses to Int'l Requests in Case of Attempt on RT Chief

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - In July last year, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) and law enforcement agencies reported that they had foiled a plot by Ukrainian intelligence to assassinate the editor-in-chief of Rossiya Segodnya, the parent company of RT and Sputnik, Margarita Simonyan, along with fellow journalist Ksenia Sobchak.

Russian investigators have received responses to international requests as part of the investigation into the preparation of assassination attempts on the editor-in-chief of Rossiya Segodnya, the parent company of RT and Sputnik, Margarita Simonyan, as well as Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak, according to case materials seen by Sputnik.
"Responses to international requests were received, other investigative and procedural actions were carried out," the materials say.

Russian security forces detained members of a neo-Nazi group called Paragraph 88, involved in the assassination attempts on journalists Simonyan and Sobchak. Eight suspects were arrested in the case.
Earlier, media reported that the Main Investigative Department of Russia's Investigative Committee had completed its investigation into the criminal case against members of this group.
