"The organization has proved its relevance on several occasions, including during the events in Kazakhstan two years ago, when the peacekeeping contingents of the association helped normalize the internal political situation within several days. We are not stopping here. Together with our allies, we are constantly working to enhance the CSTO capabilities in the fight against multifaceted security challenges and improve crisis response mechanisms. We share with our partners the experience gained by the Russian armed forces during the special military operation," Agasandyan said.
The CSTO is a regional security alliance consisting of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
Armenia suspended its participation in the CSTO in February. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has threatened to pull the country out of the bloc unless it addresses Yerevan's security concerns. In May, Armenia said it would halt contributions to the CSTO budget.
