On Wednesday, a source reported that an Israeli drone attacked a car in the center of the town.
"Three people in the car were killed as a result of an Israeli drone attack in Marjayoun. Several more people were wounded," the source said.
The source said preliminary information suggests that the three killed belonged to the Palestinian movement Hamas' military wing in Lebanon, Al-Jama'ah Al-Islamiyah.
Overall, on Wednesday, Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese medical emergency center, killed four people and left 27 others wounded, nine of them in serious condition.
Earlier on Wednesday, an Israeli drone struck the settlement of Aabbassiyeh. According to the medical emergency center, 10 people were injured, three of whom were hospitalized in serious condition.
In turn, fighters of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement carried out four combat operations against the Israeli army on Wednesday. Also, in response to the strike in Aabbassiyeh, they shelled the Israeli border settlement of Kiryat Shmona.
The situation on the Israeli-Lebanese border escalated after Israel started hostilities in Gaza in October 2023. The Israel Defense Forces and Hezbollah fighters conduct attacks almost daily on each other's positions in areas along the border.
