The second round of closed talks took place in Ankara on the initiative of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday and Tuesday.
"We will meet again in Ankara on September 17 for the third round of talks," Fidan was quoted as saying by the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
On January 2, Somalia recalled its ambassador to Ethiopia, one day after Addis Ababa inked a memorandum of understanding with Somaliland that granted the landlocked Horn of Africa nation access to the Red Sea. On January 6, Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud signed a law nullifying the agreement between Somaliland and Ethiopia. In February, Somalia urged the United Nations and the African Union to condemn the memorandum of understanding between Ethiopia and Somaliland.
