French Defense Minister Says Plane Crash in Meurthe-et-Moselle Involves Two Rafale Jets

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Earlier in the day, L'Est Republicain newspaper reported that two Mirage military fighter jets with three people on board collided in the area of the eastern department of France, Meurthe-et-Moselle.

The plane crash in France's Meurthe-et-Moselle involves two Rafale jets, not Mirage ones, French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu said on Wednesday.
"An accident of two Rafales of the Rafale 3/4 Transformation Squadron 'Aquitaine' took place in Meurthe-et-Moselle. One of the pilots has been found, he is safe and sound. The search is still ongoing. Thank you to our armed forces as well as the gendarmes mobilized in the search and to secure the area," Lecornu said on X.
French authorities have found one of the pilots of the Mirage fighter jets that collided in France, and he is injured but conscious, L'Est Republicain newspaper reported on Wednesday, adding that three people were on board of the jets.
