Floods in Northern India Kill Over 30 People, Report Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Over 30 people have died in floods caused by strong rains in northern states of India, the Times of India newspaper reported on Monday.

On Sunday, at least 31 people died in the Indian states of Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab, the newspaper reported.
The majority of the victims have been reported in the state of Rajasthan, where 17 died and at least five went missing.
At least eight people remain missing in four states of the country, the newspaper reported.
Earlier in August, news agency Press Trust of India said that over 20 people died in India's north due to the landslides caused by heavy rains.
