Russia's Putin Holds Meeting of SCO's Council of Heads of State

The SCO Summit is taking place in Astana, Kazakhstan, from July 3-4. The event is attended by the heads of state and government of Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, China, Mongolia, the UAE, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.

During the first session, Belarus was officially accepted as a member of the organization. Belarus has completed all the procedures for full participation in the SCO in a short period of time, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted.
In addition, the idea of creating a new Eurasian security system was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with top diplomats.
