The creation of a joint bank of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states can increase the level of economic and financial cooperation between these states, acting Iranian President Mohammad Mokhber said on Thursday.
"Given the experience gained within the framework of the organization's banking union, in our opinion, the creation of a joint SCO bank can increase the level of cooperation between member countries in the financial and economic spheres," Mokhber said, as quoted by the Tasnim news agency.
He added that Iran opposes political instruments, in particular, unilateral sanctions in the energy sector and supports the document on the strategy of cooperation between the SCO countries in the energy sector.
