Belarus and Russia will respond asymmetrically to Western sanctions, Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergey Aleinik said on Monday, adding that the two countries did not intend to harm business.

"We still do not intend to proactively harm businesses, humanitarian and other types of practical cooperation, cross-border and people-to-people contacts. But we will continue to respond asymmetrically to any illegal pressure," Aleinik told reporters after hosting Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Minsk.
