Ethiopian Foreign Minister Taye Atske Selassie and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met to talk about their nations' collaboration in the BRICS and UN Security Council.
“The main directions for further enhancing bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation, including the expansion of trade and economic, scientific, technical, scientific, and humanitarian cooperation, were thoroughly discussed,” the statement said.
Both countries expressed their commitment to deepening political dialogue and aligning their approaches in the UN and BRICS, especially during Russia's chairmanship in BRICS.
A private discussion on cooperation with international organizations was also part of the meeting. The ministers also talked about conflicts across Africa, focusing especially on the situation in the Horn of Africa.
