Lavrov, Pandor Talk Ways for SA to Contribute to Reaching Peace in Ukraine, Moscow Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor discussed opportunities for South Africa and other countries of the Global South to contribute to conflict resolution in Ukraine during a meeting on Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The meeting took place in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod, which hosts a meeting of BRICS foreign ministers.
"Given the shared understanding of the origins and causes of the crisis around Ukraine, further opportunities for South Africa and a number of other representatives of the Global South to contribute to finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict were discussed," the ministry said in a statement.
Lavrov and Pandor also shared views on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and other international issues, according to the statement.
