Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Russia's Chechnya Region, said on Sunday that the Akhmat-Chechnya regiment of the Russian Defense Ministry had taken control of the Ryzhevka village in Ukraine’s Sumy Oblast, which borders Russia’s Kursk Region.

"Soldiers of the Akhmat-Chechnya regiment of the Russian Defense Ministry … together with soldiers of other Russian units, carried out tactical actions and liberated another settlement from the enemy. This is the village of Ryzhevka, which is on the border with the Kursk Region," Kadyrov said on Telegram.

He also said that, as a result of large-scale offensive actions, the Ukrainian troops had suffered significant losses and had been forced to retreat. The coordinated and effective work of the soldiers of all units made it possible to achieve this result "without certain difficulties in just three days," he added.
