Russia is negotiating with a number of African countries on the possibility of a mutual abolition of visas, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development told reporters.
It's worth noting that in August 2023, Russia began to exchange group tours without visas with China and Iran. In 2024, it is also planned to start the exchange of group tours without visas between Russia and India. Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Vakhrukov said in an interview with Russian media that the first trips could take place as early as the third quarter of 2024.
In September 2023, Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said that Russia had offered the complete abolition of tourist visas to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, and Malaysia. He stressed that it is possible to increase the number of premium tourists from these countries.
Later, Deputy Minister Vakhrukov specified that visas for these countries could be abolished in 2024.
