In a gesture of regional solidarity, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal arrived in Ouagadougou on Thursday for a one-day friendly working visit, marking his first trip to Burkina Faso since assuming office.
President Faye was warmly welcomed by Burkina Faso's President, Captain Ibrahim Traore, at the Ouagadougou airport.
The visit's agenda focused on enhancing existing ties and addressing shared challenges, highlighting the importance both countries place on their partnership.
Earlier in the day, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye arrived in Mali. He was welcomed by the Malian President of the Transition, Colonel Assimi Goita, in the country's capital, Bamako.
The first foreign visit of the Senegalese newly elected leader was to Mauritania. Faye was sworn in early April.
