Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday called on countries of the global south to resist Western pressure and refuse to participate in the upcoming Ukrainian peace summit in Switzerland on June 15-16.
The confrontation has gained a global perspective as the West is trying to involve the majority of the world's countries by trying to limit their cooperation with Russia, the top diplomat said at a roundtable discussion on the Ukrainian crisis held on Wednesday, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The meeting planned for June 15-16 in Switzerland is not, as claimed, to discuss ways of resolving the conflict in Ukraine but to prepare and present an unacceptable ultimatum to Russia, the minister added.
Russia has not been invited to this meeting.
