This night, Russian air defenses destroyed two Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod Region and intercepted one drone over the Kursk Region, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
“During this night, attempts by the Kiev regime to carry out terrorist attacks using aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles against facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation were stopped. Air defense systems on duty destroyed two Ukrainian UAVs over the Belgorod Region and one UAV was intercepted over the territory of the Kursk Region,” the ministry said.
Last week saw multiple attempts by the Kiev regime to attack Russian territory. On Monday, Russia's Kursk region was attacked by drones, as a result of which one person was killed and two were injured, according to the regional government.
Later that week, Russian air defenses shot down Vilkha multiple launch rocket system rockets, a Tochka-U missile and a drone over the Belgorod Region, as well as drones over Crimea, the Bryansk Region, the Kaluga Region and the Tula Region, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Furthermore, last Friday, Russian air defense systems and the Black Sea fleet intercepted 102 Ukrainian drones and destroyed six drone boats overnight.
Ukraine has been frequently sending drones and missiles into the Russian territory since it launched a counteroffensive in early June of last year. The UN said last August, following a botched drone strike on Moscow, that it did not want to see any targeting of civilian infrastructure.
