Musk Says Russia 'Succeeded' in Jamming Each Comms System Used by Ukraine, It's 'Huge Problem'

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - Starlink is a satellite internet service – a network of more than 2,000 satellites orbiting the Earth that communicate with thousands of terminals on the ground. Musk's company SpaceX sent Starlink terminals to Ukraine shortly after the start of the Russian military operation in the country in February 2022.

SpaceX founder Elon Musk said Russia has succeeded in jamming every communications system used by Ukraine expect his Starlink internet service, but it's costing him significant resources to protect it.
"SpaceX is spending significant resources combating Russian jamming efforts," Musk said via X on Friday. "This is a tough problem. They have succeeded in shutting down every communications system, except Starlink."

However, the Western media reported earlier, citing Ukrainian officials, that Russia has deployed advanced technology that has disrupted Ukraine's use of the Starlink service on the battlefield.
Moreover, another Western media outlet said that Russia has also been able to jam guidance systems of modern Western weapons such as the Excalibur GPS-guided artillery shells and the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or HIMARS.
The report said Ukrainian officials are pressing the US Defense Department to address this issue by having US arms manufacturers upgrade these weapons systems to overcome Russian jamming.
