AfroVerdict host wishes a blessed Africa Day to all the listeners across the globe!

In honor of this jubilous day, Sputnik Africa's representative in Ethiopia interviewed Dr. Wuhibegezer Ferede, Associate Professor of Political Science and International Studies, Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia, about the significance of Africa Day and approaches to solving pressing issues on the continent.
"Africa is really trying to address these challenges through a form of mobilizing internal resources, and of course by creating an alliance with external actors who are really immune from this legacy of colonialism," Dr. Wuhibegezer Ferede says.
Currently, as we can observe the world "moving towards a multipolar world order" various regions are going to play "a stronger role", according to Dr. Philani Mthembu, Executive Director at the Institute for Global Dialogue, South Africa.

"Africa has to play a key role within that trend in shaping the norms, in shaping the rules, in shaping how we essentially engage with the world in a shifting multipolar world order and so the role of regions becomes quite enhanced," Dr. Mthembu explains.
