The West is panicking over the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine and because Ukrainians refuse to fight for the Kiev regime amid forced conscription, Russian Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations Dmitry Polyanskiy told Sputnik.
"It's absolutely clear that the Western backers of Kiev are in panic right now because of the situation on the ground and because of the fact that Ukrainians, as it is obvious, are not willing to fight. There is a forced conscription in the country, which doesn't bring the results that were hoped or promised by the leader of the Kiev regime," Polyanskiy said.
Polyanskiy quipped that only psychiatrists could explain why Europeans, including French President Emmanuel Macron and British Foreign Minister David Cameron, are increasingly calling for raising the stakes in the conflict by either sending troops to Ukraine or proposing strikes deep into Russian territory. Meanwhile, the United States is taking a more balanced position by putting certain limitations on the use of its weapons by Kiev, he said.
