Russia's Roscosmos CEO Not Ruling Out Future Cooperation With US on Russian Station

BEIJING (Sputnik) - The first module (science and energy module) of the Russian orbital station is expected to be sent into orbit in 2027. The Angara-A5M is expected to be the main rocket that will put the new station's modules into orbit and send manned spacecraft to the station.

Russia does not rule out future cooperation with the United States on the Russian orbital station, Russian state space corporation Roscosmos head Yuri Borisov said on Thursday.
"We invite everyone, please... Always, you know, the thaw of the international relations... it started in space. That is why we do not close the doors," Borisov told reporters, commenting on whether Russia invites the US too cooperate on the orbital station.
It is expected that the first module of the Russian orbital station will be sent into orbit in 2027.

Next year, the node and airlock modules will fly, and in 2029, the base module will dock to the station. This will complete the first stage of the Russian orbital station creation. Then the second stage of construction of the station in orbit will begin, during which it will be equipped with target modules until 2032, including one that will be able to undock and fly freely around the station.
