On Andrey Belousov, nominee for Russia's defense minister, rests "a great hope, a great responsibility," a Russian political scientist Andrey Suzdaltsev told Sputnik Africa.
"Our economy is becoming the main weapon, a weapon that doesn't just shoot – we produce tanks, planes and missiles that shoot – but it basically shows the backwardness of the West's economic thinking," Suzdaltsev said.

If he becomes defense minister, Belousov will mobilize all the resources the ministry has, the expert noted.
"This money must help us achieve our victory and at the same time not destroy our economy, but on the contrary accelerate it," he added.
According to the expert, this will help destroy the myths spread by the West about its control over the global economy.
Belousov's nomination for the post was explained by the Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov by the need to "align the economy of the security sector with the dynamics of the current moment."
