Saudi King, Crown Prince Congratulate Putin on Victory Day, Foreign Ministry Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On May 9, Russia is celebrating the anniversary of the Red Army's victory over Nazi Germany, marking the end of fighting on the Eastern Front during World War II, known in Russia as the Great Patriotic War.

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud have congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the May 9 Victory Day and wished prosperity to the Russian people, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
"King Salman … sent a congratulatory telegram … Putin .. on the occasion of the anniversary of Victory Day in his country, King Salman wished... the friendly people of Russia progress and prosperity," the ministry said, adding that the crown prince sent a similar message to Putin.
