Kiev Loses Up to 380 Soldiers in Battles With Russia’s Central Grouping of Forces, Moscow Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Earlier, on the occasion of the Victory Day of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he had no doubts about Russia's victory and that the special military operation is the best proof that the Russian military is worthy of its ancestors who fought in the Great Patriotic War.

Russia’s central grouping of forces has repelled 10 Ukrainian counterattacks in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) over the past 24 hours, and Kiev’s casualties reached up to 380 servicepeople, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
"The Ukrainian armed forces lost up to 380 servicemen, a tank and two infantry fighting vehicles," the ministry said in a statement, adding that 10 counterattacks were repelled.
Russia’s eastern grouping of forces also repelled an attack, while Ukrainian forces have lost up to 175 soldiers in battles with it, the ministry said.
"The enemy's losses [in battles with Russia’s southern grouping] amounted to up to 215 servicepeople, two armored personnel carriers, including a US-made M113, two vehicles, a US-made 155 mm M777 howitzer, four 152 mm D-20 howitzers, two 122 mm D-30 howitzers," the ministry said, adding that another attack in the DPR was repelled.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian air defense systems shot down two ATACMS missiles, 15 Vampire shells, a HIMARS projectile, five Hammer guided bombs and 28 drones, according to the ministry.
